The problem
Hearing tests mostly rely on the patient responding to a sound source. However, this method cannot be applied in babies, in patients who cannot respond to stimuli, or in individuals with cognitive disabilities.
The visual stimulus approach
An object or pattern is shown on the screen and the patient's response is awaited. The response may be eye tracking, head turning, hand movement or a blink reflex.
Data recorded by the device
- Time to the first response to the stimulus
- Correct answer rate
- Misleading responses
- Consistency during the test
When these data are evaluated together, it becomes clear how strongly the patient responded to each stimulus.
Why is it important in the clinic?
Hearing loss detected at an early stage directly affects speech development. This is why its use for screening is critical.
The device can be purchased as a standard product. Installation and user training are included.
