How much does a lost call cost?
On the night shift in a hospital a patient makes an assistance call and nobody hears it. This single incident can affect the entire day shift the next day.
The purpose of installing a system is not just to make a sound, but to keep a record of the call and make the response time measurable.
Components
- Button module — wireless LoRa 433 MHz, long battery life, maintenance-free
- Receiver / router — one per floor
- Screen module — nurse station, doctor office, cashier, reception
- Software — call list, history, statistics
Why LoRa?
Wi-Fi cannot be used in hospitals because of channel congestion and security restrictions. Wired solutions require pulling new cables whenever a new floor or room is added. LoRa provides long range, low power and easy installation.
Reporting
For every call, the button identity, floor / room, call time, time it appeared on the screen and closing time are recorded. The response time is derived from these three data points.
This can be used directly in quality studies and in patient satisfaction measurement.
Integration
The system connects to the hospital information system via API. Call records can also be followed there.
